A bit of home in Paris
Far from home, I caught site of a bright gold flame that I recognized instantly. My fellow traveler, a Brit, didn’t see the connection right away. It’s the same flame that the Statute of Liberty holds in New York - a gift, of course, from France to the US. It was nice to spot it, like an inside welcome to US travelers in Paris . . . .

You do realise there is a replica of the statue of liberty in the middle of the Seine?
Sure. But anyone could recognize that from a mile off. I liked spying that particular piece of Lady Liberty and knowing what it was.
Right. Excuse my earlier snarkiness.
